Easily,Easily 3-4 times that figure just to make it an acceptable DD.
(Nothing Special,nothing pretty...Just a DD.)
And figure minimum $1,500 Per year in "Maintenance" parts expenses on top of that.

If the body and interior were perfect I would consider it... if I also wanted another project car. 3 is enough LOL!

partsman beat me to the punch...I'd consider a 116 or 126, but wouldn't touch a non-running 140 on a bet! Around here, there have been several BMW 750iL's(the 12 cylinder ones) as non-runners or "needing repair" for under $1000...wouldn't touch one of those either, too complex, parts cost too much, not worth much when you're done with it, if you ever get done with it.
