Free is tough.

Your ISP, ComCr*p in my case, may offer some free space.

I pay some each year for mine, but I bought Knudsons.com years and years ago to eliminate the trend back then of changing email addresses constantly.

cheap you might be able to find with restrictions.

I use Godaddy (I was there before Danica though!), domains are cheap and their hosting plans are pretty cheap as well. I think their basic hosting package is like $4 a month or something like that.

I used terribly crappy and very teen-agery FREE webspace. I don't think you'd really like it. But its SOOOOOOO amateur-ish. A 10 year old could make a website on it....

http://www.piczo.com/?cr=3

I made...I think 3 websites...haven't been on any of them for a year...I just looked at one again now....PHEW! No pictures of me...haha. However...I think one of the other ones there is a picture or 2 of me in there...eep!

I don't care if you hate it, or don't even know why I suggested it. I don't think you'll use it, but if you want free, this is the only one I can think of at the moment. It's TERRIBLY easy to use (from what I remember) and its free, so it's gonna ACT like a free website too.

You could use Blogspot. Simple, easy, and no HTML writing.

One little utilized way to have a free website is Blogger. If you register a domain name through google, you can then start a blogspot blog and have it point directly to your domain name. So your blog/website can be "yourdomain.com" as opposed to "yourdomain.blogspot.com. Totally free other than the 10 bucks a year for domain registration. There's also a way to point the blog to a domain name that's hosted elsewhere, like godaddy, but the instructions are pretty geeky. The blog features have become so rich that it's a perfect way to have an ad free personal website. You can even put paypal links on it for donations or a simple shopping cart. If you're of a mind to, you can sign up with google adsense and make a few pennies if you're lucky enough. The nice thing is, since google owns Blogger, once your domain name is registered thru google and the blog/webpage is set up, you'll end up at the top of google searches almost immediately.
