Is this news legit enough for you?

Faith in Obama drops- lower than Reagan, Clinton or Bush in the same time frame. I hope I don't see folks bashing the source and saying it's not a story.

Craig 07-13-2010 06:29 PM

Yup, it's a poll.

And one could also conclude from the article that Obama has the highest rating in Washington.

Confidence in Obama is at a new low but the poll found that his numbers are still higher than lawmakers of either major party four months ahead of the November congressional elections".

Asked how much confidence they have in Obama to make the right decisions for the country's future, 58 percent of respondents said "just some" or "none".

So which is it, "some confidence" or "none". Grouping two different ratings as one response doesn't exactly instill confidence in the results. For me, there's a big difference between "some confidence" and "none".

Sixty-eight percent expressed the same sentiments about Democrats in congress and 72 percent said the same of Republicans."

Hey look a poll !

Wonder who paid for it ???

Why dont you go look it up ???

AdvisorGuy 07-13-2010 08:29 PM

So Obama, "in the same time frame" has lower approval than Reagan and Bush. Does anyone recall that The Gipper and Junior both got reelected after this "time frame"?

Emmerich 07-13-2010 08:58 PM

You know you suck when people compare you to Jimmy Carter, and Jimmy Carter gets offended.

They did- so perhaps BHO ought to have a higher rating or he will not get another round. Congress sucks- the majority of 'mericans have thought that for a long time. The prez is a different story.

Like Clinton - you PO the left and the right all you have to work with is the center.

It's a little too late for all but a few who voted for him to even dare dispute how unpopular he is. Regardless the source(s).

I think he's making Jimmy Carter look awful good these days, I'm afraid...

18 months in, and it's a disaster beyond most anyone's idea of that hope and change thingy belief.....

I don't know about making Carter looks good. I lived through those years, and they were difficult times to say the least. At least Carter had the political savvy to appear to be sharing in the misery index--lowering White House winter temperatures and wearing sweaters. Obama seems to be almost "in your face" with some of his actions.

President Obama is making Clinton look awfully good. This conservative longs for the good ole Clinton days.

The Clk Man 07-14-2010 07:20 PM

Is there a tiny chance that Bush and the Republicans may have caused our current economic crisis? BTW I am a registered Republican. :)

Craig 07-14-2010 07:31 PM

Economic cycles seem to be pretty independent of the current occupant of the white house. That doesn't keep the administration from getting the blame or the credit. We live in a world economy and, contrary to what many americans think, we are not the center of the universe. If/when the chinese economy goes south, we will find out just how little control we actually have.

As always, the party in the white house will lose congressional seats in the mid-term elections. What happens in 2012 is completely dependent on the republicans figuring out who they want to be and finding a credible candidate.

My thoughts exactly- but it's worth a good laugh posting this and seeing his supporters tip toe.

So did I!

I had just spent $7,600.00 in CASH (including tax/title/license) for a brand new 1974 Cadillac, a work car, that had been discounted heavily due to the Arab Oil Embargo. I struggled along for years increasing my income, in spite of his bumbling pResidency.

The truth is, we did not know how good we had it with Nixon, then Ford!

BTW, I've never made more money annually, than I did during the Clinton years - since Ronaldus Magnus - Ronald Wilson Reagan's presidency set the stage more the most dramatic economy and bull stock market of my life!
