Man, am I tired of seeing this crap

Bling Bling, look at me! I'm driving a 20+ yo car! I'm so tired of this crap. Aftermarket this; aftermarket that. Isn't there a point when one steps back from their car, and thinks, "Gee, maybe this doesn't look as good as I think/thought it does/did."

Its worth 1k in that condition since to bring it back to an acceptable normal condition will cost at least 3k in appearance restoration alone

He says he will take offers. Maybe we all should make a concerted effort to make "offers".

I'm starting to see more of those lights show up on W124's. I have no idea what the attraction is. Yesterday, a guy in a white W124 drove past me on I635, the car for the most part was quite clean, but he had these headlights, black tail lights and a big bore muffler and aftermarket wheels.

While I'm not against the modded look, I would have put a set of euro lights on instead as these lights look like they belong in a comic book.

Same here. I see the same E320 coupe on a regular basis and those lights completely ruin the car.

They are supposed to look like W211 headlights up close I think. An old lady drives a 300D 2.5 around here that has them, they look like crap. Some kid also has 94+ aftermarket headlights on a pre93 260E, the gap is pretty funny.

Personally I hate the giant MB-logo grilles. Not only is it really gaudy, but just ruins the lines of the thing. I love looking at MBs and seeing the washboard grille dating back to who knows when. The only monster-logo grilles were the SLs.

That car is worth about $2k in normal, good condition. So if it needs $3K of work, it's a parts car.

Lemme see...ugly, expensive paint job - check. Ugly lights - check. Ugly, expensive wheels - check. Functioning windows - 1 out of 4. I'm not so sure about this guys maintenance priorities.

There's a tacky-fied 124 in north Dallas too. It's a two tone blue '93 - factory paint, AFAIK, but with really big, ugly wheels. So yeah, the 124 does seem to be attracting that type of owner. I wonder why - aren't these lousy cars on which to fit big wheels?
