Nice. Does the G actually come with these, or are these something aftermarket (or worse, an upgrade/convenience option = $$$)

Yeah it's in there although I never really thought of it as a cup holder, just a springy pocket thing to hold various items.

This is the actual cupholder in a G-Class (Note that it is detachable...aka obvious afterthought) You can see the other one noted in the cartoon behind the shifter.

I think the insult is that the Austrian built G is shown holding a bottle of Perrier.

Both cupholders in the G-Class are jokes.

They arent really good at holding anything other than a mobile phone, or glasses.

Real Mercedes don't have cup-holders. That makes the G the only real one left and technically it's a Puch

as germans are drivers and not blobs. cupholders are an afterthought just to please lazy mericans.i have yet to see a german car with a cupholder worthy of a cup,my vw jetta it is right above the radio, drink something cold that sweats.guess where the water goes yup right in the radio, and my bmw 740il was right in front of the shifter and rendered the a/c controls useless if the cupholder wasn't broken.which i have yet to see one of those 165 dollar cupholders that ain't broke.

They will hold a beer bottle OK. My Chevy now that has cup holders, they will hold and entire bottle of rum or vodka!

Since the G is the last proper MB it has to have crap cup holders!
