Algore vs the IPCC

oops.....:D

“As it turns out, the scientific community has been addressing this particular question for some time now and they say that increased heavy snowfalls are completely consistent with what they have been predicting as a consequence of man-made global warming,” Gore wrote.

Unfortunately for Gore and others who have claimed that the snow this winter is a global warming byproduct, their own authorities have said climate change will result in less snow.

Both the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have predicted warmer, less snowy winters.

Why people look to the opinion of GW/GCC from pundits like Al Gore and Bill O'Reilly is beyond me. That's like asking the local sports reporter about new advances in lie algebras.

The only thing worse was this line from a "meteorologist"?

Quote:

Weather is what we wake up to everyday. Climate is the average of weather over a long period of time … So it makes no sense to try to say that a storm, or storms, or hurricanes are from global warming. You cannot say that because what we have seen through history is that the variability of weather is so enormous that there is no comparison.
They start right, differentiating between weather and climate, but significant weather changes over some time period are the basis for climate changes, so saying that you can't compare the two through history is totally contradictory. It's like saying you can't compare the number of hits and the number of at bats through history versus the batting average. :dizzy:

Heavy snow and heavy rainfall is pretty easy to figure . . . there's more water/water vapor in the atmosphere. So, everybody stop exhaling, okay . . .

catmandoo62 02-18-2011 05:57 PM

this global warming is great.i haven't needed a humidifier for about the last 3-4 yrs.

Interesting how a former VP and presidential candidate from over ten years ago still gets the right’s panties in a bunch.

t walgamuth 02-19-2011 10:33 AM

It all goes back to RR telling everybody not to worry, do whatever feels good.

(Funny that is a lot like the old '60's hippy saying "if it feels good do it"!)

funny that you are calling anyone who sees through the BS of MMGW "the right" there are people from all beliefs who dont believe this sh%t.

Gore is relevant in the discusssion, since he is one of the well know esposers of the myth. So is the IPCC. Now their lies contradict each other, so....

roflwaffle 02-19-2011 01:49 PM

Uh, dude, your link was about Bill O'Reilly asking manbearpig about yellow snow or somesuch. If Bill ain't "right" then I don't know what "right" is any more. ;)
