Just another example of why no one voted for you on the "Which member's posts do you enjoy most?"

And before you even say it, I don't care that I didn't get any votes either but I haven't been here long enough to make any sort of impact. Nor do I have any interest in being recognized for my wit but at least I make a point not to offend or annoy anyone.

I'm offended that you didn't read my post. I voted for you :P

Anyway, to get an apple product JUST because it's an apple product is a silly thing. Anybody here wanna buy an iCar? I'm sure it will be such a strange car that the driver will become applesauce.

What else does the Xoom do? Does it have a microphone? Curious as to how good it would be in a phone call :P

Depends what type of device you are looking for. I don't have an ipad2 yet, but I've been using the original for about a year. I like it because it plays nicely with my macs and iPhones. I don't think I've ever seen a zoon in person. Just buy whatever works best for your needs.

Unless the camera tickles your fancy, stick with the iPad 1. When it comes to pure tablet function I still think the iPad 1 is king of the road.

I don't really care about the camera, the ipad2 is a little quicker and has more RAM but I'm in no hurry to upgrade. I will probably end up buying one for my daughter before I replace mine. I'm certainly not going to stand in line for one.

iPad 1 is on my wish list. But a rooted nook is going to happen if I can get a refurb nook color. :)

My middle kid bought one. She works in a sales job where visual presentation is Gawd (event planning & rental). She uses it to show clients what different options might be and can draw upon her company's warehouse for photos of items on display and in use. It has meant 10's of thousands of dollars in sales and the company president bought one after she showed him what she was doing -- no big deal, it's a small company. But growing. Her boss just bought a Ford GT. It's his daily. Next year she gets his cast-off Beemer. She will make more than me, which is great -- it means she can afford to take care of me when I retire (as I often remind her! This is revenge for her teen years).

Craig, the iPad 2 is more than a "bit quicker." The processor and memory pretty much eliminates the checkerboard screen when scrolling or loading. Garage Band on the tablet might be just the reason to shop for a new guitar this year.

As with anything else if i'm going to listen to something i'm going to listen to it through real speakers and not some crappy headphones or 1/8 inch nonsense speaker.

Mixing on a mobile device is awesome.

With an external amp and nice set of headphones, its a great way to get work done on the go!

I may pick one up when the wait/lines have gone away, I just haven't bothered. Maybe I'll get one for my daughter; she will use GB more than I ever will; but she already has a pretty good GB/keyboard setup on her mac. I just don't have time to play with another toy at the moment.

I ordered Mrs MTI the new iPad on March 13th, the day after the launch. Today, it's on its way from Hong Kong to Anchorage, AK along with a few thousand of its relatives, so there's a bit of a backlog on orders.

So I've heard, I think I'll just wait a couple of months until I can just walk in and buy one off the shelf.
