I had one of these at one time. A lot of power for a 5600 pound car. At least that is what mine weighed.

Parts can be purchased from Mercedes, but they are not cheap. A US (8.5 to 1) piston, connecting rod and wrist pin, which are made by MHALE, cost about $900. That's the price for each one. I don't remember the price of the rings.

Then it has to be balanced to the rest of the pistons so one of them has to come out and while you are in there you might as well do a valve job. It all adds up real quick.

I was quoted $9,000 for a paint job, so don't let them sit outside too much. Or at all since sitting in the down position is hard on the air bags which cost about $200 each and there are four of them.

But they are a lot of fun to drive, and they do make great parts cars for your 600.

6.3's are awesome, but one day I want the ultimate S class!

It was built for dictators! I don't think any other car had quite that target demographic.

Fit for people who can call in an air strike. Still one of my favorite TG clips.

Air bags are cheap. Paint is not unique to a 6.3, And you can have custom pistons made pretty cheap too.

Worse thing is a mechanic who breaks something he is not familiar with. Plus as with all old cars, rubber and plastic are brittle.
