Republicans can't follow their own rules
A new rule in the House requires that any new bill that is introduced must be accompanied with a statement pointing out where in the constitution it grants congress the authority to pass such a bill. This was a Republican sponsored rule, and a very reasonable addition.
Republicans just recently made a big deal about the importance of following such rules, and with much aggrandizement, pushed for the reading of (most of) the Constitution in the House. Thus, it is with jaw dropping amazement that so soon after Republicans put on this show for the country, Republicans can't follow their own rules, and don't even seem apologetic about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0AQ5TjsEIM

What's your point? Do you believe any politician has followed any ethical rules they claim to believe in? Except when it is convenient, that is? Republicans tend to be more of the showboating sort, Democrats don't make a splash of it. Both still will do sleazy things. What's the difference?
What is the difference if you loudly proclaim honor and integrity and don't do it vs sitting quietly and not being honorable or have integrity? Politicians do whatever is convenient and if you actually benefit, well, so be it. Any of us can do what is politically convenient and self serving.

Yep. Give them a rope long enough and they will hang themselves with it.

Fine. Lets hear your side of it. Lets assume both groups are supposed to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Tell me which group doesn't lie.

Not fair. This is like saying "Don't blame the plaintiff or the defendant. Blame the lawyer for the frivolous lawsuit.". Blame the 12 morons who set the president. In this case, blame the people who told the politicians "Tell me what I want to hear".

I don't know whether Rep. Weiner is correct as a matter of parliamentary procedure, but his objection is fairly devastating. What is the constitutional basis for that bill? The Commerce Clause? I don't think the GOP wants to go there. Knuckleheads. |

So, Karl Rove aside, how does one determine who is the better party in the long run? The best argument you have is that one whore is slightly better in some non-quantitative way than the other. It does NOT discount the fact that they are both whores. At this point, to say one is better than the other is simply to say "I like the fishy smell of this whore better than the fishy smell of the other whore.".

People that are more interested in building their war chests, building their power base, keeping their job as a politician. Vs Someone that will make the best decision for the country or state ..., even if it goes against their own opinion. In business I have made decisions that I felt were wrong, but the decision was the best alternative. Someone that isn't busy trading favors with other 'politicians' or lobbyists or ... Someone that makes the right decision PERIOD. Another comment I have made. We went into Iraq because of the religious battles between the Sheites and the Suunies (spelling ???). Who's gonna come in and break up our political battles between the Dems and the Repubs.

I'll add this.
If our Politicians spent half the time they expend finger pointing at the other party doing constructive anything. Government would have a chance, small but a chance. Just think if they worked constructively rather than playing 'PARTY' politics.

You've chosen your side; what I don't understand is why you need to broadcast your side to anonymous people on the internet rather than be content in your beliefs.

That is an amazing piece of video. Starting at the 15:50 point, Rep. Barton (R-TX) makes the most idiotic argument in the history of the United States Congress, and that, I think we can all agree, is an amazing feat.
