Many thanks
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
I asked for your help a few weeks ago regarding my 1974 240D that would not start and was given great advice in what to do. It turned out that there was air in the fuel system and the primer pump was finished. I fitted a new pump renewed all the fuel lines.Checked the pressure release valve. Cleaned the injectors. Tested the glowplugs. Rewired to the glowplugs. Purged the system and today the car started.
I would like to give my thanks to the members of the forum, those who asked the questions and those who gave there advice. Because of the help I had reading various threads and the folk who replied to my thread I was not only able to do these jobs and get the car started I also have an understanding of how things work.
Once again thank you for your invaluable help.
Kindest regards. Ron.
