Here is Mitt Romney from the most recent debate:

If we re-elect Barack Obama, Iran will have a nuclear weapon. And if you elect Mitt Romney, Iran will not have a nuclear weapon.

I am confident that Romney is spouting nonsense, but my only basis for saying so is that his claim was made at a GOP debate. In other words, I am going on the odds that what he says is nonsense. It is a strong statement, though. I imagine it will be effective with the voters.

Does anyone here know whether Romney has anything behind his bold claim? I am not well informed on Iran's nukes. Maybe nobody is.
