Great post ,thanks for sharing. The lobbiest and their lawyer firms are directors of the underbelly of washington ,picking away at pesky problems just like this one ,how do these people sleep at night. It seems the memo had an underlining note to the Wall Street execs, we may walk away from the Wall Street issue and hold hands with the OWS CROWDS if we dont get fat stacks coming our way ,its the Obromoff way of doing business ,just that he was much better at persuasion on these tactics than this poorly scripted memo, extortion in a nice note signed sealed and delivered. This shows from under a microscope how currupt the system has become .

The memorandum from that lobbying firm is a real doozy: http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/msnbc/sections/news/CLGF-msnbc.pdf This seems like the sort of thing that should bring OWS types together with Tea Partiers. Access to power is a core issue for both movements.
I was listening to C-Span on the radio yesterday and heard part of Secretary Chu's testimony about the Solyndra "scandal." Now that it appears that the GOP isn't going to get anything real to pin on the administration, the Democrats on the committee are getting bolder about shoving it back in the GOP's face. Rep. Markey (D - Massachusetts) said that the GOP's strenuous effort to turn the Solyndra into a scandal is really an effort to discredit renewable energy generally/ In Markey's view, the GOP is doing this because its clients in the oil, nuclear, and coal industries are scared of what renewable energy means. His comments tie in nicely with the OWS message, IMHO. I don't know whether Markey knows what he is talking about, but his comments are interesting. Look at this video clip starting at about 1:26:40 or so. Energy Department Loan to Solyndra, Part 1 - C-SPAN Video Library Markey's inflammatory comments were inadvertently reinforced by Rep. Sullivan (R - Oklahoma) whose comments come immediately after Markey's. Sullivan is woefully uninformed and Secretary Chu completely pulls his pants down around his ankles. Sullivan shows no reaction as Chu makes a fool of him. I don't know if that's because he has a good poker face or because he really is as stupid as his questions make him sound. I hope the AWS people find a good way to keep their message going and to unite with some of the more sensible Tea Party types. Perhaps the time is right to at least expose just how bought and sold our government really is. I don't seen any harm in that. |

Markey doesn't know much and rarely misses and opportunity to reveal it.
It would be an interesting revelation to find sensible OWS spokespersons. Or hell, rank and file. We have a random sampling right here in OD of who attends OWS over protracted periods of time. |
