The gray market '85 500SL's are the fastest of ALL the R107 cars.

Very desireable. And the r107 is SO iconic. Instantly identifiable as a Mecedes Benz. Women LOVE them.

A little cramped, inside, and not so much a sports car but more of a boulevard open cruiser.

I think the best of them all would have a manual transmission but they are ULTRA rare - worldwide.

If the one sold here has a hardtop, the buyer will need a hardtop hoist or a hardtop stand in his garage.

These are easy to buy.

Parts are always available, though gray market ones (when needed) are tougher to find and buy.

Good price if the car really IS as described; BUT---

This is one of the most sought after w107 models out there. 1985 Mercedes -Benz 500SL! This is not a 450sl not a 380sl not a 560sl, this is a very hard to find(especially at this price) Euro 500sl, more horsepower than a 560sl, with airbag and heated seats Notice the small Euro Bumpers and the Square Euro headlights very cool. Extremely rare cruiser it runs excellent, super smooth and very fast very classy roadster. The engine and transmission are in excellent shape the body is straight clean title no accidents current registration until August 2012 Only 200K miles which is LOW FOR A 27 YEAR OLD CAR!. The interior is clean the seats do have some wear.... This is for serious people only, so if all you have is $2k go look for a car listed at that price, I will not accept your ridiculous offers. This is the lowest price on a good running w107 500sl you will find. I just put in a brand new metal radiator with copper tubing, brand new fuel pump, it runs super nice and will drive anywhere, excellent running car. Again if you don't have anything close to what I am asking don't even bother, if you can find another one of these for less especially in this color combination black on palomino, go get it.......No trades, Cash is the only payment I will accept.

But the would be buyer is going to have to confront an arrogant, obnoxious, and nasty seller; his text gives it away.

Maybe he is constantly bombarded with lowballers and is furious. Who knows?

The fastest is 500 SL (but only RÜF-version, KE-Jet., 7.3 sec 0-100), then 560 SL (7.7 sec 0-100), 500 SL (KAT-version, KE-Jet., 7.8 sec 0-100) and 500 SL (K-Jet., 8.1 sec (7.8 sec up to 09.1981)).

There is "old" 500 SL with 231 h.p. M117.962 (K-Jetronic).

Excellent information, thanks for providing it,

But "CH" presumably is "Canton Helvetia" so you must be in Sewitzerland; in which case, you are presumably talking in terms of kph not mph in you post above.

Welcome to peachparts also.

This post normally would go into cars for sale but the seller is obviously not a member, and the car is unusual and pretty unique which is the reason for its being here.

CH = Confoederatio Helvetica.
Yes, I mean km/h.

Thanks for sincere reception!

The pictures aren't very good but there seems to be a hint that there was some poor bodywork done on the car.
