What is your definition of "the top"?

You're outdoing yourself with all your naive posts in this thread. Your silly example actually points out exactly why it is so glaringly obvious that the order came from the very top.

Troops keeping their shirt tail tucked in could be seen as a standing order. Sgt. Carter enforces such a standing order and the only thing that would change such a standard procedure would be orders that worked their way through the chain of command. Since the Marines disarmament was unprecedented, the only way such a standard procedure would be changed would be for it to come through the chain of command from the top.

Face it, your panzy ass liberal buddies that are now running the military are fvc#!ng it up! Handing out white flags will be next. I'm sure you will enjoy that.

You do realize there is a record of what you post here right?

Sadly, it did not arrive in time for "Tet". Imagine how different our history would be. Just ask Caesar about his salad.

I don't think he said the President. He let you infer the President. He's too wily to be caught like that in your game of "gotcha politics."

He said "the top" and "the very top." Unless he means "not the President" and "not the SecDef", who, under the Chain of Command could be considered "the very top" and "the top", respectively, since they comprise the NCA. He doesn't mean the CJCS, since under Goldwater-Nichols they don't have command authority, so they can't give orders to combatant forces. He could mean the combatant commanders, but then he'd be calling active duty soldiers in a combat zone "panzy ass" liberals.

But he could also mean someone ABOVE the President ("the very tippy top?") And since we're one nation, under God, there can be only one "very top."

Larry believes in Strategic Ambiguity. He says a lot, but not very much, and sometimes not clearly. Any misunderstanding is on your part.

Oh...and was Larry channeling Cee Lo is his assessment of the current elected leadership of the United States? Next thing you know someone with a sex tape will be supporting the Republican front runner with a theme song. Oops. Too late....

 When you mention Tet. I am assuming that you refer to the 1968 Offenisve during the Vietnam Conflict that virtually crippled the Viet Cong as a fighting force and heavily damaged the NVA armies? That communist defeat? Can't imagine how a meal made in the 80's would affect the outcome of a seminal battle in the 60's, but whatever, I guess

I hand out MRE's to small children that come trick or treating on Halloween.

Since I've never cooked anything beyond an egg or a pot of coffee in my life, it's not possible that I cooked it.

That's it? Never made instant oatmeal? Never grilled a steak? Never tossed a salad?

It is true that we "won" the Tet offensive but it is also generally thought to be the turning point of the Vietnam war as it relates to public support....and public belief that we were capable of "winning" the war.

The folks at World Nut Daily have a few things to say about salad tossing:

Soy is making kids ‘gay’

a few questions for Larry:

1) details as to your military service?
2) dates of your military service?
3) explanation as to how "we" (sic) could have "won" the vietnam war, and what would have been the result?

3)Done away with the ridiculous rules of engagement that put a strangle hold on everything attempted.
