It's certainly something that happens (or almost happens) to most people once...

This isn't Benz related, but when I apply the letters to the signs I make, I use a wide sheet of masking tape. When I pull the tape off of the sign, sometimes it tears and I punch myself in the nuts. :D

Had one those rubber mallets with the big black head on it that isn't secured to the handle. Tried to straighten a bent swing arm and hit it with all I had, the head hit the swing arm and twisted on the handle and rebounded upside my forehead.

Duh

I've been waiting for someone to post about a nut shot.

I've had tools slip etc the most recent occurrences are me getting in and out of my little truck. I forget to duck in the damned thing and always wind up smacking my head.... I'm so used to sitting down in my wagon that I'm not used to climbing up into said truck

That reminds me of one of my best ones, as my dad would have called it. I was running a ProtoTrak mill one day, and left the Y axis handle in the out position, because I was doing a bit of manual machining with it. I hit the rapid travel button to move the tale quickly, and racked myself in the jewels, dropping me to the floor...of course, everyone had a good laugh, because it happens to everyone at least once.

I'm actually pretty cognizant of things like that when I'm working on vehicles and machinery. The damage has generally been limited to fingers and knuckles.

I had a small shop van. The ceiling height was EXACTLY 6'. I am 5' 10" barefooted. Add 3/4" for my work boot soles and you can see what is going to happen. One day, with an exuberance which I rarely displayed during working hours, I made a gleeful entrance from the ground into the van area. When I woke up, for the life of me I couldn't figure out why I was lying on my back looking at the ceiling of my shop van. :o One of those, "Good Lord, I hope NOBODY saw that" moments.

I have since made it a point to never display any excitement during working hours.

The shop has a 10 ton overhead bridge crane. The hook is a massive steel structure that can easily lift 20,000 lb.

Note to self: DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, LEAVE BOTTOM OF HOOK AT A HEIGHT OF 6' OFF THE FLOOR.

I'm 6'4".

2nd nut shot. :D

drilling a 6 inch hole in a truck body with a huge corded power drill, drill jammed in the hole, slipped out of my hands, and the cord whipped around and smacked me square in the nuts with the plug end attached to the extension with incredible force.

Ended up going to the hospital. Passed out first though. :D

Blessing since everyone was turning purple with laughter after watching me whip myself in the nuts. When I didn't get up, guess they decided it might be a little worse than they thought, but even then couldn't stop laughing
