K&N makes an oil filter for Mercedes vehicles?

Well for my truck I use K&N, but I am pretty sure the air and oil filter for my car were K&N. Either that or NAPA's top-line one.

Maybee you should take a little stroll outside..pop the hood and Look.

Then report back your findings.

These are things you need to KNOW..not suspect.

Nope. They are top-line NAPA's. K&N doesn't make MB diesel stuff, unfortunately.

Excuse me, but I have replaced the filter, and it is super easy.

( working from memory on this, so forgive me if I remembered wrong)
So, should I be running a high-detergent synthetic oil to clean things up as best I can?

Was he testing an air-cooled VW motor? The lack of a water jacket attenuates all of the metallic noises inherent in an engine...including the clack-clack-clacking of pushrods and valve tappets...

My biggest fear in having you do that at this point is potential leaks. As engines age, oil deposits clog some gasket failures.

This is why I always suggest AGAINST changing oil types after 50k miles. If it's always had dino oil, keep it dino oil, same with synthetic.

Just my $0.02 based on past experience.

For crying out loud, pull the plug on each cylinder and check for an exhaust leak first. You guys got good ideas but the easiest quickest first.

I got K&N recleanable air filters on both my HD's and my Silverado. I never tried their oil filters.
