Media Bias!!!!

Where's the outrage??

Fox News Host Corrects Obama's 'Silver Spoon' Quote - NYTimes.com

Maybe it would be more of a story if it had been done by a news agency...

That prick can't even bring himself to do a proper correction. He didn't "paraphrase" Obama, he completely misquoted him. Obama has been using that "silver spoon" line in his education speeches for years. It has nothing to do with Romney. A proper correction would have brought out all that context.

Whats wrong with truth.
Mite did ride in on his Daddy's coat tails.

Or is the public to believe that he got where he is today without favors from 'The Good Ole Boy's Club', and the juice his father had from being the Governor of Michigan.

One has proven to have done better than the other education wise. Last I checked, I do damn well in school and haven't paid for a grade.

As to his education speeches using the silver spoon shtick, it looks absolutely pathetic in either context. To even think there is no implication for it to be aimed at Romney must be a joke.

Are you getting good grades in English Composition? I only mention it because I don't know what your first sentence means and don't see what your second sentence has to do with this thread.

It must have been a joke three years in the making. Here's what Obama said in March 2009:
Quote:
Because we know that the countries who out-educate us today will out-compete us tomorrow, this budget also invests in a complete and competitive education for every American — in early childhood education programs that work; in high standards and accountability for our schools; in rewards for teachers who succeed; and an affordable college education for anyone who wants to go. That’s the reason the three of us are standing here today. None of us were born with a silver spoon in our mouths — but we got a great education. And if we combine additional resources with a commitment to reform, then I think we can deliver that for every American child.

I stick to things that'll get me a non-unionized job-- I'm strictly a math and science(pre-med to become a cosmetic surgeon) guy.

Coattails, silver spoons and all refer to having influence and money, no? You get grades based on your own ethic, and Romney's record is absolutely nothing to scoff at merit wise and financially. That is where me not paying for my grades (other than to pay for tuition, of course) came into play.

I wasn't discrediting the fact he's made similar remarks before. It's the fact he makes them that makes me sick.

Obama didn't say anything about coattails and I don't think he was talking about influence. He was talking about opportunities. If we invest in education, then even kids who were not born with silver spoons in their mouths can have opportunities. Maybe some of them can even become President of the United States.

Who is scoffing at Romney's record? He completely kicked ass, both in school and in business. You have brought in this concept of paying for grades. I don't know what that has to do with anything. Even Steve Doocy didn't bring up that.

Really? You don't like the idea of creating opportunities for people from all backgrounds to succeed? Seems like a core American idea to me.

I've responded to other quips in the thread than the topic post-- that's where coattails and *not* paying for grades comes from. I'm saying it is not possible to do so, making Romney and Obama equally mortal men.

My dad came here an immigrant at 7 years old from Cuba. Worked his way up to become a millionaire before he passed. The opportunities ALREADY exist for kids to succeed. He took advantage of the public system, I've taken advantage of it-- I have no remorse for a single kid who does not do the same.

Taxpayer silver spoon for Barack?

Quote:
“And the silver spoon Obama got — I mean that generation, it can’t be denied, you can’t support affirmative action and then pretend it doesn’t exist. You don’t transfer from Occidental, which by his own accounts in his autobiography he mostly spent smoking pot, to a fine Ivy League university like Columbia if you’re not checking off ‘black’ on your application. So you know, the silver spoon since I’ve been alive has been an affirmative action silver spoon.”
Columbia, Harvard......LOL
