Sounds rather like mine. I hardly ever remember any detail of dreams but I often wake up screaming and am conscious of the fact that it was some kind of horror/creature related thing, but can never recall exactly how or what. Very seldom do I ever have what might be called a "pleasant" dream, and even then they usually have vivid unpleasant twists to them, or at least I think they do.

All things considered I wish I didn't have dreams.

I have noticed my dreams are influenced by what I eat. Too much sugar and my dreams will be scary.

Also if i am worrying about some project at work then work will appear in my dreams.

Sex sometimes too.;)

There was a place in one of CS Lewis children's series on "Narnia" called "the land where dreams come true". At first everyone thought it was to be a pleasant place, but then they realized that ,like you, their dreams were rarely pleasant, and left quickly.

One last night got me out of a sound sleep, dream goes as Im waiting to place my order at a drive thru a gang of dirty bikers show up ,as Im waiting to place a order I witness a fight break out in the parking lot ,cops show up to break it up ,cops leave except for one that comes over to tell me Ive not place my order and everyone behind has been waiting ,bikers, I set my order and have been waiting awhile when I look up some stairs that lead to above the restuarant and notice another fight break out,one guy runs down the stairs as another follows with a knife, then cuts his throat ,the guy drops ,then the killer looks straight at me as a witness to get rid of ,I juimp out the car and run up the stairs ,as I open the door upstairs I grab a 2 x 4 setting on the floor,as i wait for the door to open I get swung around and wake up.I had watched GoodFellas last night ,I guess that might explain the violence.

I think you have read more into my post than I meant.

I meant as a new subject sometimes I dream of sex. I did not mean work appears in my sex (or whatever you thought).;)

this morning I dreamed I was driving along a decent two lane road and came to a place at the top of a hill which the pavement ended and dirt began. As I hit it I noticed some houses indicating the edge of a town.

I was driving at a highway speed but not super fast.

As I crested the hill the road fell away abruptly and I got airborn. The road simply fell and fell and I flew impossibly far. I thought for sure the car was going to get upside down or sideways and i would be killed but it managed to stay level and land on all four tires.

I was in a town too and improbaby it landed right in the center of the street without incident.

I pulled into a gas station to get some fuel. After a while I decided to go over and examine where I had landed. There was an outline of the car where snow had fallen off the car on landing but no scraping of the frame on the pavement. I had flown at least 1000 feet.

Then I went back and could not get my credit card to work for gas.

A young man who I knew came up to me and indicated that we needed to speak privately. We turned away from the other people. I said "did anybody notice what I did?". He said yes. i said it was surprising the police had not showed up.

Then I woke up.;)

You can't make this stuff up!:P

Tom,

Good thing you're not a veteran and a pilot. Veterans have to be VERY careful answering the questions the VA asks about dreams. They are all too often misdiagnosed as having Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. When this happens, the ones that are pilots lose their medicals and thus have to give up flying.

Watched part of the very good documentary film, My Reincarnation last night. It's the account of an Italian born son of a Tibetan lama. The son is thought to be a reincarnation of another Tibetan lama who is supposed to lead a monastery in Tibet. The son of course, doesn't like the idea. However, eventually, as a result of dreams (!) as an adult he decides to adopt his identity as a reincarnated lama.

I usually have two types of dreams:

The first type is usually the type that I don't rememeber. I just remember fallign asleep and then BAM my alarm goes off.

(Preface: I'm single, for some 5 years now) The second type is where I'm back with an ex or dating someone and happy, only to wake up and realize the opposite is true. Makes for a ****ty morning/day thats for sure.

I have no memory of the dream, and my name isnt Jack, why dinosaurs were important to the dream, I have no idea. :D

My wife laughs because I apparently have full conversations in my sleep with a woman name Monica. The odd thing...I don't know ANYONE named Monica.

I have no recollection of any of those conversations, but they happen about once a week. Even the kids have witnessed them. Hell...my EX used to get jealous about the dreams, and even accused me of an affair with Monica.

I'd love to know who she is...

Maybe its a nightmare and not a dream

I think that subconsciously you have misinterpreted all the press about Clinton having oral intercourse with Monica.

jplinville 07-17-2012 01:45 PM

Maybe I'm just dreaming about receiving oral intercourse...that would make sense.
