The Short List of B.O.'s Broken Promises

The short list:

President Obama’s top 5 broken campaign promises | The Raw Story

This list is very kind to the man. There are many more we can discuss later.

Now now ... you know it is Bush's fault that he did not fulfill his promises or it was the other party's fault for not allowing him to carry out his promises. However, it has been three years since the election and the congress was controlled by his own party when he took office, respectively. Naw ... still not his fault ... and , "let me be clear" is not so clear right now.

April 5, 2011 link? Somebody needs to catch up on their reading. ;D

Obamameter

Yes, lots of "broken" but the complete list has compromised and kept.

You mean he KEPT some? Larry won't know what to do with that news.

Oh wait, he'll just ignore it. Like many of us, he has Obama's accomplishments on ignore.

cmac2012 07-06-2012 05:06 PM

Oh well, one aims high and does the best they can. Of course, if only Obama was an honest man and kept his promises, we'd be on easy street. Nothing else can explain it.

MTI 07-06-2012 05:16 PM

A politician, any politician, that kept all their campaign promises . . . why that would be historic. ;)

Push for college football playoff system? Really?

cmac2012 07-06-2012 05:29 PM

GM is alive and bin Laden dead.

Anyone who thinks any pol can keep all their promises is what you call 'naive.' Power of positive thinking, you say 'hell yes we can,' and you usually end up accomplishing more than if you'd hung your head, all weepy, saying, 'we're doomed.'

Now, if he could get MLB to drop the "designated hitter" in the AL, then that could qualify him for Rushmore, baby! ;)

So? The Bush-Obama bailout aka bandaid worked. Both had a hand in it. Both should have been hung for it. Company that cannot survive should be left to it's own devices. It's not like it wasn't a LONG time coming. So if Obama gets credit for it, so should Bush. As to OBL, WGAS? What has that accomplished? ALQ still operates independently and is like the Hydra where you cut one head off and another two comes up. BFD. You should know better than to think that killing OBL will send a message. Besides, it was the SEAL team that did the dirty work as was it the intelligence group that found him.

How about a middle ground. TELL US WHAT THE TRUTH IS instead of this positive thinking crap or "we're doomed". Tell us what is realistic and that goes for all politicians.

Good. The more he does NOT achieve, the more I want to vote for him. Govt intervention comes WITH A PRICE. The less you do, the lower the price. As I said before,

Dear Govt,

Please do me a favor by NOT doing me any favors.

You can add "Do Best to Destroy America" to the "accomplished" column.

How about this. Under promise and over deliver. My customers seem to like it. OTOH, when I over promise and under deliver, they seem upset.

Don't promise something you cannot or are not sure of delivering. Aim wherever you please but if you cannot deliver, don't promise. Assure me you are working towards a solution if you must. Don't promise me a solution by 1500 hrs when you are not sure of delivering it.

There is a difference between

I will achieve X by 1500 hrs

I will attempt to achieve X by 1500 but it might not work out that way.
