Strawberry Wine

Was listening to some David Allen Coe and he mentioned SB wine?

Is it good? Southern only thing?

I've had homemade Strawberry Wine before. I found it to be quite sweet.

However...Boone's Strawberry Hill was the drink of choice for many HS girls that I went to school with. I found that to be nasty tasting.

Virtually all strawberry wines are really sweet grape/pear wines with some kind of ersatz strawberry flavoring. Given the price of strawberries, a real commercial wine made from them would be nearly cost prohibitive.

Interesting, though it was only the stuff of country music legends.

I'm not sure of the validity of the article, coming from Yahoo, but most of these use real strawberries.

Knowing how bad I failed at mead earlier this year, I'm a bit afraid to try the recipe...but you never know.
