Homeowner fatally shoots man trying to break into car

A homeowner shot and killed a burglary suspect early Friday as he tried to break into his car in southwest Houston, KPRC (Channel 2) reported.

Police said the shooting happened at about 6 a.m. in the 11500 block of Misty Glen Lane at Vanderford.

Investigators said the homeowner heard some commotion, walked outside and spotted a man trying to break into his car, so he opened fire, shooting the suspect.

The suspect was taken to an area hospital, where he died.

The homeowner was taken in for questioning by police, the TV station reported.
Oh yeah, the fun part? Or the part that will make it funny to watch social conservatives and progressives as they try to remain coherent while discussing it?
The shooter is:
  • Homeowner
  • Business owner
  • Illegal Immigrant

Sadly, I believe you are mistaken.

Such individuals are usually proud of the fact that they stopped a criminal despite the loss of life.

Life is cheap in most places. The life of a criminal is cheap in the US.

the life of a property criminal should be cheap anywhere. I work hard for my stuff, don't come take it to feed your addiction or because you are too lazy to get a real job. Shootings like this should happen more often, it'll improve the gene pool.

He should also be wearing his foil hat a bit more tightly.

One can only hope. Unfortunately it's likely the thing has already bred.

It's a myth that all crime is perpetrated by drug addicts jonesing for their next fix.

He may have occasion to consider the imprudence of his action while serving a few years.

OK, I read the article, if the guy was threatening him with a shovel he has more grounds for the shooting. Who knows.

uh, see part two: because you are too lazy to get a real job.

he'll walk....

21 foot rule, ie:

"A person with an edged weapon within 21 feet of a person is POTENTIALLY a deadly threat'

"The AVERAGE person with an edged weapon raised in the traditional "ice-pick" position can go from a dead stop to level, unobstructed surface offering good traction in 1.5-1.7 seconds."

So, if you are in that position and someone decides to come after you, you may already be in a fatal situation unless you take steps to neutralize the agressor.
