Back to the original question, though...how do you think it will bode for Obama or Mitt in the coming election if Israel attacks prior to the election.

I don't think it will go good for Obama. Already, Mitt is leading or neck and neck with Obama in the polls. Mitt has favor in Israel, and views them as very close friends, so the vote goes to Mitt. If Obama stands and does nothing, or worse, jockey's the US into position to attack Israel, Christians will vote Mitt.

Those are my thoughts...

I'm guessing that fundies will vote for Mitt one way or another. This is more likely to affect the Jewish vote, and possibly the Muslim-American vote.

Why in the world would you care about my estimation of the number of Fundie nutjobs who're willing to arm themselves in an insurrection against the US gov't in the (remote) event of non-support of Israel? I'd be surprised if half the people who openly profess to be as crazy as you, would actually have the courage to go outdoors on the big day. If you double that to account for the crazy Fundies who have the good sense to keep their mouths shut, it's still a very small number.

If peace was decided tommorrow for the region its up to those in power over the region to begin the walk across the isle.Its not going to happen soon since one doesnt trust the other and so on and so on.The Land has been blooded by both sides for to long and the reasons are blairingly obvious ,who owns what land and whos borrowing it.Another day along a fine line of desparation for people who have a deep belief that they are right and others are very ,very wrong ,all which is hidden under a flag of religious beliefs .This conflict will only be over when both sides agree enough to this madness for the future of their kids ,not religion ,LIFE. When and if its to begin this true treaty will need to be decided by them and them only ,the others can stay the hell out . Who will live in this perfect world I describe,hopfully many in the near future who see it as a place of coexistance instead of hate a resentment for the past.

Fundies are voting for Mitt, no matter what. They always were. A few will write in Pat Buchannan, but probably not if they live in a swing state.
