The CEO of Citi Cards has a blog? And he's named "Jud"?

I get a small kick out of how huge corporations try to act like they're your buddy. This email they sent me is a fair example.

But...somehow I doubt Jud writes his own blog, or even reads "his" blog posts. Of course I also doubt he wrote or read this email.

He is a real person, though, and he went to Lafayette, so I will grant that he probably can read and write.

Dear Schmo,

I’ve always thought that the best way to show someone you are listening is to really deliver. That’s why we’ve been listening to customers like you, and making changes in response to your feedback.

For example, you asked for a monthly statement that is easier to read and use. We listened. Over the next few months, you will see a new statement, with a simplified design and a standard paper size so it’s easier to file.

You also asked for a more timely view into your spending. We heard you. Now, you can see your pending charges online, before they post to your statement.

Thanks to you little whiny-asses, a new set of laws was passed to make it harder for us to fleece you. We did our best to make sure the law was stillborn. But, a few little bits made it through. We're finally getting around to minimal compliance, and we want to act like you owe us a big favor now, for being so nice. I mean because you do. We could have easily drug this out another election cycle. Don't go getting uppity again and whining to Congress. Post your stupid problems on my blog and I'll fix everything for you. I promise.
