Who knows three point hitches?

Simple question: Will a tractor attachment, say a Gannon or rear blade or something that fits a Category 1 three point hitch fit on ANY Cat 1 hitch or are they brand specific? Is it possible that an aftermarket Cat 1 attachment might fit one kind of tractor and not another even if they both nominally have cat. 1 hitches?

I don't want to join any more forums and my Deere guy is no help.

I should add that just because it fits doesn't mean your hydraulics will lift it. check the lift capacity of your tractor to make sure the implement isn't too heavy for it.

Thanks for that. The reason I ask is I'm going to look at a tractor tomorrow that has a cat 1 hitch. I have a great rear blade on my old John Deere C300D and I'd like to be able to use it on the new one and not have to buy another.
Grandpa's Ford 8N is older than I am and is going into extended rehab. A complete teardown, rebuild, repaint restoration. I won't have it back for probably a year and can't do everything with the little Deere. When I get it back it might become a barn queen anyhow.

If the tractor is roughly the same size and horsepower as your Deere it should be fine. Grader blades are generally not too heavy. I use the one from my old 45HP Ford tractor on my 22HP Kioti with no problems.

I agree with 10fords---Cat 1 is Cat 1. Same for Cat 2 and Cat 4.
Cat 0--for smaller garden tractors may have a little more variation.

Cat 1 is Cat 1. If it doesn't fit get a bigger hammer.

Yeah, no worries. The blade weighs maybe 150 lbs and will be going from the 16 horse Deere, which is just a heavy duty garden tractor, onto a 28 horse diesel compact tractor. If I buy it. Good tractors are hard to find around here and attachments even more so as we are ranchers and not farmers per se. They get light duty use and tend to be kept forever.
