Found some new yard art in the woods

Found this Killefer Mfg Co chisel plow in the woods. It is dated 1903 and it seems that they were purchased by John Deere in 1937. Not much info available about it on the internet. The s/n is 9802 and it is catalog #8. I'll drag it out of the woods over the next few weeks and set it up adjacent to some other farm implement yard art I've got. Anyone on here ever heard of Killefer?

Check it out.

Nope. Pretty cool though! Do the tines move up and down or just forward to back?

Nice find! You must have some pretty interesting woods round there. Reminds me of the old equipment I used to find in gold mining country out in Colorado.

Grandpa had 14,000 acres of land in 1935. There was a landing strip on the property back then. Margaret Mitchell has visited here along with numerous govenors and instructors/students from colleges and universities throughout the US back in the 30's/40's. Supposedly he was the first person to ever plant pine trees as a crop.

Actually the wheels/axles move up/down raising or lowering the tines. Seems that it was used to break up the hardpan.

I imagine it was a big ordeal to move something like this from Ca to Soperton back during the 20's. I'm sure it came by train.
