So, overall, do you give it thumbs up or thumbs down ?
Thinking of taking my teenage son to see it. I assume no wild sex scenes or inappropriate stuff. He loves gratuitious violence, and yes, another terrorist that meets his maker is a plus for me. |

Greazzer,
Yeah, it's ok for teens. There are a few F bombs and plenty of other cussin. There isn't a whole lot of gorey violence. Yes, the first 20 minutes or so are all about waterboarding and other detention practices. One prisoner shows back side bare butt, that's about it. Long flick. 2h.37min. But you won't be bored if you like the genre..and you won't want to leave your seat. ![]() The attack on the compound was soft pedaled. Lots of drama, but little violence. I think they only show ** kills in the compound- less than actually occurred. The crash scene looked a little hokey, but what do I know. Even if it were not true, it's a good action flick. I think it might be the signature role for Jessica Chastain. She was most of the movie. If she accurately portrayed the real CIA operative, that woman stands tall. I enjoyed it. Two thumbs up. Edit: Time's cover story this week is on Kathryn Bigelow who directed it. http://ideas.time.com/2013/01/24/why-zero-dark-thirty-is-not-your-usual-hollywood-fare/ http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,2134499,00.html |

Thanks for the info !!! At this point, he's pushing 16, but he's OK for the violence. He must kill 1,000 zombies a day. It's just the near porn stuff in some movies that makes me feel uncomfortable when I take him to the movies. He loves military and similar type movies, so this might be a visit to the cinema this weekend. Thanks again !

Given the muslim association of the circumstances, it would make it appear a little out of order for there to be sex scenes.
