Amen - here in South Central PA; I'm guessing 2/3rd of the municipal budget is blown on salt/skid material. It's absolutely ridiculous...and not at all surprising that the Chesapeake Bay hates our salty balls.

Nothing like a heavy snowfall for spectacular skiing. There are few things I enjoy more than skiing during blizzard conditions.

The trick will be timing the drive just right without getting inundated and stuck somewhere.

Like driving a giant snowshoe, so light it floats up on top of snow and ice. Last year I crashed it because of its floating characteristics, but no reason I couldn't use that important lesson and put it to good use this year.

Salt must be cheap these days. More has been put down and has remained long after roads cleared and snow long melted than I can remember for a long time. The 300CE doesn't like snow, and it's been in the garage for a month.

Doesn't bother me. I have chains. And I drove through one of the worst storms of 2010 in a Miata with winter tires and a hardtop. SUVs are for nancies that can't drive worth poop.

Besides, if we leave tonight, stuff isn't supposed to get serious till after noon tomorrow.
