Agreed.

In my pessimistic opinion, our country has been increasing the rate of separation for about 30 years. It seems exponential to me but that maybe due to the inescapable myopia of living NOW. If I am right and we are on an exponential curve, it is worth keeping in mind that humans have a tough time with non-linear prediction. Use for example, any budget congress has approved or any stock market prediction since the cows were moved from Wall Street.

Worse (if I am right) it means the rate of change is increasing every moment -- an acceleration toward anarchy.

Good luck, y'all.

That'll never happen. We have the constitution we have because of small state vs big state interests. We had the difference in 1779 (or whenever it was written) and we still have it.

Its a compromise and always will be.

Most human institutions are compromises. Not all compromises manage to hold together.

Most of the supporters fled to the US where they picked up some followers and then they came back and tried it again. That attempt failed as well but it did bring about more self government in Ontario and Quebec.

If America wasn't born out of revolution, war, and conquest, it wouldn't be so paranoid, war mongering, or as backwards as it is today. If anything, your country would be a lot further ahead right now if your constitution was written during peace time. It brings nothing more to the table than a bunch of worn out ideas that cause nothing but friction between those who worship every word and those who see it for what it is but know that your nation needs to move on.

Besides, for all those who think they need to arm thmselves against their own government, how do you plan on sorting out those couple thousand nuclear war heads? Or, all of those fighter jets, tanks, aircraft carriers; high tech hardware that couldn't have been imagined in 1776.

And just to correct the record, no one knows who fired first.

Even if all of the above is true I have never have had any ambition to move to Canada. If I did move there it sounds like it would achive increased banality in My life.

Canda will have to invade us and fix all that.
