Good 'Ol J. Jackson Jr......

I was just speaking to someone about buying a new watch and he advised me to wait until the US Marshal's Service auctions off Jessie Jackson Jr.'s stuff. I had been thinking about Ebay, but the Fed's need the money.

I don't have the full list, but I will watch for it and post a link when and if it comes up.

I think he paid $46,000 for his Rolex, so for that kind of money it had better work!

Shoot. I got taken. Paid 25 at WalMart 5 years ago. If I had a bazillion dollars I wouldn't pay over a hundred for a goddammed watch.

Never understood watches. My mom would always give me a watch, every other year a new watch. Nice ones, of the designer type. Once I asked her if she had ever seen me wearing one...from than on it was a nice lighter every year; even that I had quit smoking for a good five years...

I have a few watches for different situations. I normally wear a cheap Seiko 5 which I have had for about 25 years. It is solid as a rock and is my wrecking yard watch. My regular 'wearing' watch is an Eterna which keeps really good time when you consider it is about 45 years old.

I also have a number of dress watches I wear depending on who I am going to be with. In the circles I move in some people put a lot of stock into what you wear.

Now that I am retired I am considered one of the best dressed bums at the coffee shop. Since I could not show up for work wearing anything less than the best I still have a closet full of $350 shirts. I don't see any reason to just let them hang there.

But anyway..... The original comment I made on this had to do with the weird stuff Jackson Jr. bought with the money he skimmed off from his election funds. All of that stuff will be auctioned off, and it will be interesting to see what it goes for. Since I posted the comment earlier I have talked to a Republican Rep who said he knew someone who was going to bid big on some stuff just so they could flash around Jackson Jr.'s stuff.

I hope they do. The Feds need the money!

$350 for a shirt? That must be really nice. The most I've paid for a shirt is about 30 quid, or 50 dollars in American money. It's from Scuderia Ferrari and looks pretty cool.

As well you should. Good taste never goes out of style.

...back to JJ JR, didn't the missus plead guilty to income tax evasion and draw jail time too?

Doesn't look good for Sr. that Jr. has turned out to be such a flake. It is true that blacks have been abused for years by the totality of life in the new world but Sr. focused perhaps too much on the past, looking for everything to be made right somehow.
