These types of stories make me think that introducing Chinese or Russian gulag style prisons might be a good idea. We could throw in all the rapists, child molesters, gang bangers, pimps and drug dealers. They would ‘give’ back to society by doing hard labor…maybe chained to a giant electricty producing turbine wheel where they have to walk 18hrs a day…or work the coal mines and granite quarries...or some other truly hard manual labor.

They chose to behave like animals; hence we should treat them such.

If our prisons were tough, and places people did not want to go, it's difficult to understand how that would not be a deterrent to crime.

I saw some articles where they beat the girls several times to forcefully end pregnancies.

People like this will never pay for the horrendous nature of their crimes, simply because our justice system cannot provide anything close to what their victims went through.

That two different children of one or more of the suspects (not sure if it's one father) both spoke and/or wrote about this is sorta stunning. My guess is that the father saw the young lady when she visited the house with his daughter and got his designs going on her.

I heard a report of a neighbor seeing the girls in the back yard with dog collar sort of restraints on them. Boggles the mind. You'd think there'd be some sort of report and investigation of such a thing.

Some sort of Stockholm syndrome going on with the girls I'd guess.

On the brutal punishment angle: slippery slope. You allow it for the obvious creeps like this, eventually it could make its way to innocent people. Life in prison for these characters will be harsh. I don't know if even the Latino gangs would protect them.

I agree - but doubt many would have the stomach for such 'justice'.

As a side note, it seems like the PD completely dropped the ball on this one (if the news reports can be trusted), as several neighbors claim they had called the cops on this place after seeing strange things. Either the cops were complacent, or did not have adequate resources to pursue such leads. Makes me wonder how many other crimes go undetected (even if they're reported by concerned citizens).

Why would I report it? I have seen girls walking around on dog collars and some guys too. I have even known a girl who willingly turned every bit of her life (sans money which she had none of) to a "Master". He'd spank her when she misbehaved. I even knew of a girl who proudly showed me the welt on her butt from her master as though it was a prize she won.

I always question it when people say that. Why? Because it can apply to any punishment. As I have always said, you lock up a guy for 10 years and find him innocent, you can't give back those years either. So if you want to go that route with punishment, in general, you still have to face the fact that you are going to punish someone who is innocent. If that gives you the creeps then you cannot punish anyone period.
