Back driving a Scoobaru...

And can't get over how well these things stick to the road with their AWD!

I'm a RWD guy, so I do miss kicking the @ $$ out on occasion, but the grip this thing has... Insane!

Negative. Just saying for a cheap car with AWD, the level of grip is fantastic.

This thing has an off surge of power off the line, but after that it is gutless.

Not a horrible car to toss around though - it is pretty light.

Meh, nothing exciting - but it's not supposed to be.

I had a 2011 Outback Limited for about 2 years and 14,000 miles. The car was OK but I missed the solid feeling that you get with a Mercedes. The suspension was too soft and it wandered to much on the highway. For 2013 they stiffened the suspension and made it better but still not exciting. The body panels felt thin and the windshield glass must also be as it is easily cracked (cracks on the inside glass even if you drop the windshield wiper too hard on the glass...Subaru even has a bulletin issued on that one).

For my money I would rather buy German engineering even if it meant buying used.

Couldn't resist

from today's Los Angeles Times, an excerpt:

**
* The Outback has been shown by demographers to be popular with lesbians. Sometimes referred to as "Lesbarus," Subaru station wagons have not only the roomy rear cargo space necessary for transporting large dogs but also the all-wheel-drive capabilities useful for off-road trips to the Lilith Fair. A Car Talk poll rated it the No. 1 lesbian car. A few years ago, Subaru even put Martina Navratilova in its advertisements. There she was, tanned and crow's-footed and separated from fellow Subaru endorsers Paul Hogan and Lance Armstrong by nothing more than an X chromosome. "What do we know?" she says in the ad. "We're just girls."

Smile Buy a new Subaru WRX STI

And then you can throw it around like a prison beech in a cell block riot.
