Vegas/Phoenix heat

Supposed to be close to 120 in either of those two cities, plus high 120's to 130 in Death Valley. Hope everyone from here who lives out there is safe -- that sounds unpleasant as Hell (literally).

109F on my back porch as of noon. I can only imagine how it is in Phoenix.

Yeah, but what's the fun of living in a place where you can't go outside without having your noggin cooked like a fried egg?

116 and climbing here on the ranch 125 miles north of Phx. It was 60 this morning so I'm not complaining too much. My animals however are not amused.

About the same as having an ice storm hit town or finding your driveway buried under multiple inches of snow.

105* here in the CA Central Valley.

Might just get drunk and float around in the pool all day.

Looks like ElChivito and others got us beat here in the Palmetto State, but it's currently 98 F at 555PM EST, and the heat index puts us a hair over 100F. It is HOT and I got to get my lazy butt in gear to install my A/C. 95+ is unbearable, so I have no idea how you guys do it in the 100's.

9% humidity helps, while you're over 40%

maybe....can't take off over... what is it... 121? Not sure about landing...

The one time I was in Phoenix in 1992 it was 120 so I don't think it's anything really new.

Got lucky! It became overcast about 1:00PM. The highest it got was 111F. It's dropped to a "mild" 106F as of 5:00PM. More of the same tomorrow.

It's showing 109 on my back porch thermometer this afternoon. It's north facing and shaded all day. The local weather stations in this area are mostly showing a spread between 110 and 118. Just returned from the store in my wife's car. Mine doesn't have a/c and I'm not driving in it again till I go to work Monday morning. Her cars thermometer showed 115 while I was driving. Tomorrow is supposed to be worse. Driving home it felt like my skin was burning off my skull. I'd settle for an ice storm right about now thanks. I see massive clouds up on the rim in ElChevys direction. Maybe he gets lucky with a massive thunderstorm.
