Colorado Director of Prisons was murdered a couple of months ago. Word is that it was a hit put out by a Saudi man serving a long prison sentence in Colorado after having been convicted of keeping a slave in his house. His request to 'serve out his sentence' in Saudi Arabia had been denied by the director shortly before his murder.

I think this is it:
Tom Clements, Colorado Prisons Director, Shot Dead - US News and World Report If the Saudi Man did that it is a rather crude way. I thought what they did was trump up some reason for arresting a American in Saudi Arabia and then make a swap for them to serve time in their own Countries. |
I think similar situations are pretty common in Dubai and probably other affluent middle east countries. Citizens of less affluent places such as Indonesia, India, Bangeledesh are imported to do work that the "emirates" (Dubai citizens) don't want to do. They are often taken advantage of including confinement and sexual abuse, passports confiscated by their employers and if they complain they are deported. being financially desparate they often endure so they can send money home.
In Dubai the population of citizens comprises only about 10% of the country. Citizenship is tightly controlled and you get it by birth pretty much solely. |
