6800 bucks. Intriguing finance concept. Safer(?) and more comfy than a bike. 90+% U.S. parts. Pep Boys service centers. 1500 jobs. A well thought out plan.

i like everything but the pep boys part.

having worked there as a mechanic, i hope competence levels have gone up than during my time there.
i doubt it though. just recently a friend tried to order sway bar links for his amazingly popular and common jeep wrangler, and was told that such a thing didnt exist and couldnt be found by the parts department. they had apparently never heard of an anti-sway bar, and couldnt even figure out what it was, let alone order it.

x2 on this.

I worked as a Service Writer/Assistant Service Manager here. Let's just say that I haven't been in the door since my last night of work even though it's the closest parts place to my house and they're usually open several hours later than anyone else. Unless they're the only parts place within 100 miles, I won't be going there.

Didn't the Dymaxion have catastrophic fail issues at high speed? Something like the spin-out from Hell IIRC.

I dunno, I'll wait a while to even consider it.

I looked at them a few months ago. There are similar alternatives out there, roughly enclosed trikes. Perhaps the Elio will be better.

I'd have to read it again, is that late on delivery or was this timetable expected all along?

X3 on pep boys, I remember when I worked at napa they actually used to order parts from us and ask us questions regularly. Their hq is down here and jobs keep popping up for them, tempting but no thanks.

Howdy cmac,
The guy that ordered in Oct. heard production was to start in early summer of 2015.
