True. So here's the thing. We know computers are here to stay so why not get a scanner that covers most stuff and is upgradable? That way, when we get new cars we can scan them too. Also, that kinda puts us on the list of "go to" people when our friends have car issues and need scanning. Favor trading is a pretty good way to get other things done and save a few bucks in the future.

that's part of why I bought mine. Its upgradable. I do think I will be moving to a otc pegisis in the next few years. I do a lot of ford work and the downfall is ford doesn't have misfire data to be viewed. With the pegisis , your supposed to be able to backdoor it.

I will have to look into that. I someday, hope to replace the 210 with a gas vehicle when the wife runs it into the ground. Although I am NOT a backdoor man myself.

Is that close to right? I also understand that s given code doesn't necessarily mean that the part listed in the code book is faulty; it could be a bad connection, or a broken wire in that circuit. (and neither tool can tell you that.) Am I right so far?
The book that gives you the interpretation of the code is almost useless. What you want is the book that gives you the flowchart of tests, based on the code, that determine the cause of the problem.

Someone mentioned the Scangauge. It is more compatible with some cars than others. Check their website for compatibility information. For the money it is a great toy, I mean tool.
