This is NOT a recommendation for the man, the quality of the van or his er...um... business practices.

Often you find people who get something cheaply and try to sell it for far more than it is worth.

I have been told that all of his vans had been destroyed by Hurricane Sandy, that he had little or no insurance and that he is trying to use 100% upfront payment on vehicles he doesn't yet have to float his business. This is not confirmed.

I looked at a so-called Mercedes Van that someone on this forum here helped me check out via pics.

It was actually a Hanomag van with no MB parts other than the three-pointed star on the front. MB bought Hanomag the following year.

The van was extremely rusty -- " Oh but that can all be fixed easily, yup yup yup..."

So buyer beware.

This must be one of all-time favourite vans. The design is iconic as it gets. I remember seeing old photos of the Tour de France with these H-Vans being the "broom trucks" to pick up hurt/tired candidates or give them refreshments!

I remember seeing them all over the place back in 1973 when I was there. I always liked the practical looking design....also looked like good drivers.

For years, one of those has been a frequent participant at the Citroen display of the Carlisle PA, Import car-show. As well as a regular guest-star on the original 'Mission Impossible' series.

Happy Motoring, Mark

Cool looking truck, I wonder how hard it would be to keep it running. Citroen parts can't be easy to get, especially on that rig, I would think.

Spent many vacations as a kid in a Citroen Van like this one, sitting on the engine cover between the driver and front passenger. Noisy, slow and lots of space.

Good to know. Not that I'm buying anything in the near future, but these vans from that seller show up all the time on one of my saved eBay searches (vintage vans in the Northeast). He's had some that looked good in pictures.
