Vdo Gauges at ok prices?
I need to get some gauges for the BMW espically the water temp gauge. I would like a amp meter and a oil temp gauge but I don't need them that bad.. I would like vdo but I also have seen them on JC Whitney that look ok. Does anyonw know where I can get them at good prices
PS I DROVE THE BMW TODAY!!

no clue on gauges, but how'd she drive? worth all the work? i know my dad's 5-er drives like a dream.....

drove horribly power wise it is so far out of timing that it's like a mower. Once I hit 2 500 rpm it takes of as the timing advances. So today I started taking the timing belt off to do it over.

www.madirect.com can help.
I get a catalog from them for VW stuff, and they have a large supply of VDO gauges in many styles. $29.99 for all except the speedos and tachs, which are larger and go for about $79.99. Even though they are listed for Vdubs, they are a universal size (since early VWs didn't really have gauge clusters, so this is all aftermarket stuff). For amp and oil temp, you should be fine. Probably won't find a water temp gauge listed for those air-cooled wonders though...  I like the VDOs...but I went for the AutoMeter gauges when I tricked out my Bug...
