Buh-bye Conspiracy Guy

Veteran California Democrat Henry Waxman, whose legislative and political savvy helped remake the American health care system, reveal tobacco’s dangers and expose steroids in baseball, will retire at the end of the 113th Congress.

“I will have completed 40 years in Congress by the end of this year,” Waxman said in an interview with POLITICO in his Capitol Hill office this week. “I think it’s time to let somebody else come in and take on some of these fights.”

He has done far enough damage....thank whatever gods you believe in this ******* is going away....

I will miss Waxman on CSpan. He's one of the few members of Congress who knows how to conduct an examination of a witness. We need more like him, IMHO, but 40 years is enough. Waxman Retires by Ed Kilgore | Political Animal | The Washington Monthly

Why do you call him conspiracy guy?

cmac2012 01-30-2014 02:11 PM

Waxman had the temerity to call big players out on their shenanigans. Not free market.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

I doubt that "nonpartisan" is a word Waxman would use to describe himself. Am I incorrect about that?

Drove my Chevy to the levee,
But the Levee was dry.
And good ole boys are drinkin' whiskey and rye,
Singin' this will be the day that I die

I don't get what it has to do with Waxman.

No need for that, but it seems as if the lampoon should bear some relation to its subject.

Speaking truth to power is not necessarily popular depending on whose ox is getting gored.

My bad, I though non-partisanship was a virtue. Perhaps only Republicans can be so virtuous?

Speaking of lampooning.

Ah, that's a lovely phrase, "truth to power".

As though a private company is powerful and a Congressman is not.

And Congressmen are truth-tellers while private companies are not.
