DumbA$! shooting gun off ,to close for comfort.

This guy who apparently thinks he is above the law has recently moved into a trailer along side a business park adjacent to my house , he likes shooting what sounds like a 22 cal. rifle into the woods were I live ,a 250 yrds section of woods is the only barrier between these rounds flying and thats nothing for a 22 bullit to reach for distance .I hear shots hit a local building in the rear of my property which is a newly built construction with a metal roof ,you can hear the hits as it dings the roof top ,very unnerving to even be outside at night .During most rifle fire maylays ,his big thing is filling up the clip and ratteling off 10 rounds at a time .He has been asked to stop by people around the area but continues, the Texas law is really tame on this from what I hear. This guy has a temper from what I hear ,you cant believe how much this thug has interuppted everyones piece of mind. The only thing Im hoping for at this point is a hit on the house ,dig out the bullit for police,a visit with evidence might be the only way this will come to an end.

Set up a video camera or 3. Next time right after the event, call the police. Shout “Gun shots fired! I heard someone scream!” Give an address. Cook popcorn.

If he's doing this are night, can he be fined for disturbing the peace or violating noise ordinances?

Sounds like a complete moron. Folks are probably pissing into the wind trying to get any sense out of the likes of him. I'd suggest speaking to the local law enforcement about it. Explain the situation and ask their opinion.

Get your hands on a .50 cal rifle, and launch a round at a target in your backyard at 3am one morning.

Lol! My friends dad used to have two of those, one bolt action and one semi auto. The bullets are like $10 each.

12gauge blanks are rather loud and easy to make from spent cartridges.

You can't get away with this in AZ, I seriously doubt Tejas either. Video's not a bad idea, but call the cops. Guy's clearly irrational, and armed.

No one wants an escallation ,firing amongst the woods might turn into a Mccoy Joy for this guy.A friend and his dogs do the walk at night across this section of woods for the beers and fire meetup ,the last one on Sunday was turned into a night of the return of Rambo ,the cops were called and 3 minutes later we can see thru a section of the business park a car head down the dead end drive were the trailer is located ,30 seconds later we hear 2 rounds of a hand gun ring out ,then the car speds away , we believe the message was enough is enough from the officers who spent a few rounds in the ground .Well the next night Rambo makes his return ,anyone selling their unusable antique bazookas and some fireworks.

Recently, in an area near me with 1 acre properties, there was a fellow who lived alone and wasn't known well. Unfriendly with neighbors. An older man. He sometimes took to taking pot shots around his property with a .22, making the neigbors a tad jittery
.
One day he apparently went all the way around the bend and took to screaming at the people on the lot next to his, then started shooting at their house claiming they were holding his wife hostage. He had never been married. By and by he crossed the property and came up onto the neighbors' back porch, still shooting into the house. The neighbor, also well armed with a .22, finally had enough and opened his back door and shot the fellow somewhere non-fatal, whereupon he sat down on a patio chair mumbling and drooling. Stayed there till the sheriffs came and took him off.
Is the guy a property owner? If he's a renter maybe his landlord'd like to hear about his idea of a good time.

Good idea talking to the property owner if the shooter is renting. Otherwise, just call the law and explain things. Rounds hitting a building aren't cool.

Isn't the owner of the new building aware that his property is being pot-shot?
