Well, I guess our due date was wrong...

My second son came early.

Elijah Robert, born May 18th at 1:51 PM EDT.

8lb, 2 oz. 20.25 in

So, now I'm not going to be working on any car for the next week or so. And my wife's 1995 E300 now really has to go (not enough room for all the kids).

...wow! Congratulations! How early was he? He sounds like a healthy weight. EDIT: I hope you made it to the hospital on time...

Since this is a car forum , what are you thinking of replacing the E300 with?

We had a scheduled c-section in a few weeks, but we're pretty confident the due date was wrong and he's really right on time. (Especially since he's only 2 oz different from the other kids).

Yep, her water broke and we had a relaxing drive to the hospital. Thought it was false labor at first.

Well, we're breaking a silent vow we made when we got married (No minivans). Most likely a Mazda MPV. (Unless someone wants to donate a diesel powered 7 seat Merc that sits higher up than a car).

My wife wanted to keep that car forever and has fallen for diesels, but three carseats in the back and her having a bad lower back....well, that doesn't quite work.

And in case anyone is wondering, yes he will come home in a Mercedes diesel, just like the other two.

congratulations!

your son seems to already have an opinion on the MPV with his "you cant be serious" expression

im pretty sure the MPV has a 4wd variant. jack it up, brush guard, knobby tires

Congratulations!

Mini vans have their drawbacks but with small children they are hard to beat. I've never had one but a Mazda mpv has always interested me. RWD.

The old one (89-99) was RWD, but the newer one (2000-2006) was FWD.

I'm not sure if I can really say "Zoom Zoom" with that thing or not.

Doesn't matter whether they're calves puppies or babies they come when they want to. At 8lbs he was clearly ready to bust out. Congratulations!

Take a look at the CX5..... plenty of zoom zoom there. If the manual tranny becomes available with AWD, we just may find ourselves buying a new vehicle......

Came home early? Hope that sets the pattern for when he's a teenager.

Congratulations Martureo. There's hope in a baby.

Congratulations. What about a short low roofed Sprinter? There should be some decent ones on the used market by now.

Well, the budget is $1000 over what we get for the E300. I'm currently unemployed (again) and I don't think those are in our price range.

Congratulations!

Good luck with the minivan business too... We still have a Toyota Previa that does a lot of kid hauling. They can be had for short money, and are quite reliable.
