The Score is Tied Now
Obama has had great success with getting his blind followers to believe that everything that has gone wrong during his administration has been Bushes fault. At the same, the same people are easily convinced that the few things that have gone right(if there are any) are all to Obama's credit.
Actually, there are some things that can indeed be traced to Bush, but with Iraq, it's now a new ball game. From this point forward it's all up to Obama. His decisions pertaining to Iraq are all that counts from this point unti the end of his reign. This is like a ball game where one pitcher allowed the other team to get ahead. The hitters get busy and tie up the score with several innings left. The new pitcher now has a fresh ball game to win or lose.

Everyone is entitled to a viewpoint. Mine is simple. As an average I hope individual for practical purposes. I cannot really influence the system up here in Canada.
So I keep political items on the really back burners of my mind. Otherwise they could become too frustrating or even pull emotions to the surface. This is counterproductive as it consumes mental energy that can be used in other areas with much less frustration etc. The ones that make a differance in fact to the individual. Now if politicians are astute enough to polarize constiuants it takes the spotlight somewhat off of them. More importantly is it reduces the chances of change to a third party. All you have to do is convince people they are a follower and defender of one cult over the other. Get them emotionally defensive and they will never change loyalties in general. I believe the majority of Canadians have figured this out. A serious emotional argument between conservative party followers and liberal followers in Canada is rare. This in comparison to one between republicans and democrats. One thing that is not missed in Canada is as time moves forward is they are getting really hard to tell them apart once elected. Especially during difficult economic times. My mother was really upset as at one time she thought I might become a politician. She had thought I was going to retain the comparative respectable job of playing a piano in a cathouse. |

![]() Good and thoughtful post Barry. If those had been your only two choices, playing the piano would have definitely been a good option.

I know. It would need to improve a great deal to be considered crap.

I was working with my crystal ball this morning. It was made in China, so I don't know how accurate it is.
Anyway, I could see the headlines from today. They were saying Obama owns this deal now and henceforth and forever more this is all Obama's and no one else has any claim on the outcome. Then it all went foggy. When it cleared up the headlines read that Iraq was a functioning country again and that the rebellion had been put down. Oil had dropped to $60 a barrel and Iran was now the US new best friend. Then, suddenly, the headlines changed and all of the good news was being attributed to Bush and the things he put into place years ago. In fact, the right wing press was reporting that Obama was on the verge of losing the peace and that without a return to Bush's policies the world would soon come to an end. John McCain was reported as saying that it was ISIS fear of a return to Bush's policies that made peace possible and Obama had nothing to do with it. Then the crystal went dark. I found a blown fuse, but it is some kind of weird China type of thing. The fuse costs more than the crystal ball did to begin with so I doubt that I will be replacing it any time soon. |
