On second thought, why the heck not!

While the execution isn't flawless, it would be a helluva lot of fun in a straight line with some more discreet wide steelies and hubcaps!

CL: 1965 galaxie Cummins diesel (yes super fast - $1 (hamptob)

Look Joosseppi, hood stack! :D

looks like it already has your hood stack! What a deal!

(too many doors though);(

JB3 12-18-2014 12:11 PM

All that power and it still has 1965 non headrest seats and probably lap belts. :D

Yeah, it's got a little nub of a pipe coming off the turbo.

A coupe would just make too much sense. ;)

There's just so much wrong with it. I want it! :D

I think the 4 door was the right choice. Coupe anything from that era seems to be the highly desirable version.

I had a 4 door wildcat that was worth less than 1500 bucks all said and done when I came to sell it, despite its greatness all around. Just because it had the smaller motor and 4 doors.

This way you can take your kids to the market with you while you lay 700 feet of rubber behind an enormous black cloud of soot

Wonder how it handles with that lump up front...

Looks pretty well conceived mechanically, maybe they beefed up the suspension.

Though on the other hand, maybe the rear tires leave the ground when braking. :D

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah baby! Now you just need to do that to Mrs. Swamp's Odyssey and you'll have matching rides.

Mind if I take for a spin after you buy it? :P

Is it meant to handle, or to go fast in a straight line? It looks like a drag king to me.

Just about like you'd expect with an extra 6 to 700# on the front axle! Prolly nose heavy even before adding the Cummins. However with the dana 60 rear end you could tow a pretty big trailer with ease if the frame will take it.;)

SwampYankee 12-19-2014 08:30 AM

Pfffft...handling shmandling. Handling was made up by people who repeatedly got blown off the line... :P

She's moved onto a Tahoe now and I'm not sure she'll let me hack it up. Yet. My 17 yo son is "stuck" with the Ody now. He has already dented it up a bit...hmmm... :D

We have too many twisty mountain roads for that thing around here. However, if you have a bunch of straight and level roads and a penchant for sick and twisted hotrods, why not?

We don't really have many fun roads for anything around here, straight or twisty. We need to get up into the mountains of western MA, VT, NH to find fun stuff.

I'm not sure that beast makes sense anywhere. But I do possess the penchant. :)

I think you should do it to the van, then, but you might want to consider the Duramax instead. The last post in this thread says it's a direct bolt-in:
