Engine noise

From your speakers? America
Quote:
It’s a sham. The engine growl in some of America’s best-selling cars and trucks is actually a finely tuned bit of lip-syncing, boosted through special pipes or digitally faked altogether. And it’s driving car enthusiasts insane.

I have an Ecoboost Ford, and while it sounds great if you walk behind it while it is idling, 215 cubic inches muffled by two turbos doesn't convince you that you are listening to the soundtrack of the car chase in Bullitt when you are behind the wheel.

Only a fool used engine sound to gauge power. A fool and his money are soon parted. If someone is stupid enough to fall for that legal trick, it is the order of things.

Milli Vanilli would be a more appropriate choice while driving the aurally-augmented vehicles in question.
