8 Weeks of USAF Basic in Photos

Into the wild blue yonder: US Air Force basic training (pictures) - CNET

I wonder if the body scanner sizing adjusts for weight and build transfer after 8 weeks.

Where is that boot camp located? Palm Beach? Doesn't look anything like Great Lakes IL.....in the winter of '65.
Check that. The hair style looks the same.

USAF Basic Military Training has been, and I think still is, at Lackland AFB in San Antonio Texas.

A lot has changed since I was there in 1971...

Lackland, yow. In 1966 basic was 4 weeks! Vietman required a bit of a speed up in training.

In the Navy too. IIRC, I entered RTC GLakes Dec.5 or 6th and graduated in CO 754 about the 2nd or 3rd week of Jan. '66. (6 or 7 weeks.) Cold prevented us from going through smoke training & fire fighting. Couldn't get the oil lit.
