Correct Tom. A 1950 Ford to be exact. As a project, it may be good for raising chickens in it.

The designer of it had some connection earlier to Studebaker and influenced both designs.

Or something to support your hanging plant holders to, like in the photograph. AKA lawn art I suppose.

Those cars were unremarkable middle-class family cars with ho-hum performance.
Kids hot-rodded a lot of them. What would you plan to do?

Actually, it was designed by the Loewy/Studebaker team as an extracurricular project. The way it came about is that Studebaker was cutting back, and Dick Calleal, a junior Loewy designer, was laid off. He interviewed with George Walker, who ran another independent design company. Walker happened to be working on the Ford project and as a sort of test, he tossed Calleal the specs and gave him a few days to come up with something. Calleal asked for help from the Loewy guys. And before you know it, they had appropriated materials from the Studebaker design shop, sketched out a design, and finally built a clay model on Calleal's kitchen table. Calleal presented this to Walker, and was promptly hired. And that's how the '49-51 Fords came to be designed by Studebaker.

That sure looks like a ‘49 or ‘50 Ford to me.

Ha! I saw the bullet grill and just assumed it was a Studie. I acted quickly to take the pics on private property and never looked at any badges.
