I'm gettin my euros!!

Well I decided to give some of those ebay lights a try. no biggie. Price was $260. and they should be fine. I spoke with the seller for a few days, and well I decided whyt he hell not. They may not be bosch or hella, but I will let you all know about them and the quality once I have them.

And yes I do know what most of you will say, you should have gotten bosch or hella, but at that price, I figured if I don't like them, I can resell them for a similar price.

I'll keep you all posted. I should be getting them over the weekend or on monday. as I am picking them up locally.

They are not TYC, and they are not Fifft. They are DEPO. I have DEPO Clear corners, which fit great, and look good, so thats why I decided ot take a chance on the depo euro's.

They do have the city light too, so I'm happy about that. I will need the 6 pin connectors, but I can get those easily I'm sure.

Alon,
I used my four pin connectors, all you need to do is swap around the pins in them and cut out the corner of the connector. Works great! Do yours have the vacuum hight adjust?

No vaccuum adjust, but I don't really need that feature, nor would I hook it up if it had it anyway.

I will see abou the connectors. I might just make my own. shouldn't be too tricky to make some.

As I said I'll keep you guys p[osted. I still am unsure if I will paint them balck or chrome them ont he inside. Hmmmm we shall see. Maybe I will put some black tape on the inside, see how it looks, then if I don't like it, I can easily do the chrome tape. if I like the black, and it looks good, then I'll leave it.

Question Alon, are you getting them from....

...Alain Amado at Mercantile Europarts? I am ordering a pair from him for my 420SEL. I too figured that at that price if I don't like them, I can always sell them to someone else

Alain got some favorable reviews from a Mercedes Benz thread. I also bought a wood shifter knob from him a while back ago, and it was just as advertised and I was happy with the service. So I am looking forward to doing business with him again.

If you did not get them from Alain, did you get them from the guy in Simi Valley? I sent him a number of e-mails and he never responded. Simi is close to my home and I figured that I could just take a morning drive and pick them up directly from him and save the shipping charges. But he never answered, so I went with Alain, even though I will have to pay shipping charges from Fla to California.

In either event, I heard good things about Depo lights. You are right, they are not Bosch or Hellas, but for the price, you can't beat them.

Let's see what your experience and mine will be like... :p

yeah I ordered them from ken in simi. I e-mailed him and he responded within 2 days.

I then responded and he e-mailed me back within a few hours.

I will keep you posted. I should hopefully be able to pick them up tomororw, as he is supposed to have them in his hands as of today.

Alon....

...my Euros from Mercantile Europarts in Miami, Fla are on their way. These are also DEPO. I'll let you (and the rest of the board) know how the install goes. I'll also report on the quality of these lights. If am satified, my daughter's 300TE will also get Euro lights from this company.

The man at Mercantile told me that in many instances people don't even need to replace their US spec headlight wipers. I am hoping that I won't need to replace mine. If I do need to change them, however, the price on these Euros was reasonable enough that I won't mind biting the bullet and changing the wipers too.

Let's see how it goes....

good ol phtooshop 5.5.

I didn't like how they changed tools around in 6.0 so I stick with 5.5

What I did was create the image. then I took the text, and overlayed white and black offset fromt he original, and on top of it. and lowered their opacity.

Gives it a raised effect.
