Drove off cliff, and survived a week trapped on beach

This is a pretty amazing local news story and since it peripherally involves a car, I thought others here might be interested.

How does it reflect on Jeep that somehow their car ended driving off the road (not a positive attribute) but kept the driver alive off a 250 ft rocky cliff (a very positive attribute)?
