Florence has been downgraded to a Cat 2. Still not out of the woods, storm surge and/or flooding might be coming.....

Yeah, I heard that it was a pretty swanky pad, with a mirrored ceiling and disco ball in the bedroom...

What was taken away from FEMA has been described consistently as "administrative", as in not the direct funds for relief. But, that administrative budget is what allows for the planning and implementation, not just the money for recovery supplies.
There is an excess of spending way over budget by those detaining illegal immigrants ( or at least their kids) and they administration has been pulling money from other sources to cover the excess.
Maybe pull it from some other sources that are clearly wastes of money.

This country needs some serious infrastructure improvements all around. Our grid is dicey as it is. Taking money away from any part of the response team that will need to deal with what is already a big deal and will get bigger due to poor infrastructure planning/building and deferral of maintenance is short term thinking.

When you have close to a billion of unearned money to throw around you do those kind of things. Forty five had around a quarter of that, so had to use it much more wisely.

Brother in Jacksonville says his power is out, thinks the worst has passed by and hasn't had any tree damage or flooding to his home.
Very brief text this am.

Discussing bad judgment call #4,096 from the current administration isn’t politicizing the issue. Here’s a guy who rightfully got his arse handed to him over Puerto Rico plucking $10 million off of FEMA, who could have redirected the funds into disaster relief, if necessary. Now, they cannot do so...
