Scientists solve 400-year-old mystery of Prince Rupert's drops
I was surfing Youtube videos and came across a guy shooting these things with a AK and filming it with a high speed camera. I looked up the drop and found this article. I will not even pretend I have the faintest idea what this guy is talking about but it just looks cool. And the fact that you can take a hammer to the head without incident yet if you bend the tail the whole thing will just explode is just very cool.

Most likely the video you saw of a guy shooting these drops was from Smarter Every Day. Here is that video.
