Suck it, moms and dads

It’s a scene parents and caregivers are all too familiar with: an infant’s pacifier falls to the floor. When this happened with my first born, I rushed to clean the soiled soother by boiling it in water or carefully washing it in the sink. But by the time my second child was born, I was considerably more relaxed, and I started do something some parents might consider a bit gross—I sucked on my child’s fallen pacifier to clean it.
And don’t helicopter the kids either.

Exposure to germs is what keeps us strong. These hand sanitizer junkies should lead the next die off.

^ This. Kids are getting weaker in our once great land. High school coaches consistently report this. I played in the mud. I grew up in Roswell, NM, weird thing to brag about, but real estate was in long supply. Every grade school I went to had a large playground. We would play serious games of tag at recess and lunch. Lucky me, this was at 3500 ft. altitude. I was a good runner/athlete in HS/College, pardon the boasting. I feel for the kids who don't have the 'luxuries' I had, who never walk to school.

Oh for petes sake. Dont fall into the "these kids today" nonsense.

Regarding pacifiers i wiped my daughters pacifier off with the tissue that 99% of parents have in their pockets at all times. Frankly though the sooner a kid is weaned off a pacifier the better.

Cool Interesting Article

I remember 40 years ago when my then baby son took a handful of dirt into his mouth~ my Father, a Doctor remarked "it is estimated that children ingest about three pounds of dirt before they become adults, your boy is just getting a head start, not to worry" .

I too grew up long ago and got filthy playing or pretty much every where I went because I was inquisitive .

Maye that's why I enjoy such robust health now, I dunno but I doubt I'll ever suck on any baby's pacifier .

Agreed, they need to get off that thing ASAP .
